Why Badr Matters
The Battle of Badr took place in Ramadan, 2 AH. About 313 Muslims faced an army of around 1,000 from Makkah. The Quran calls the day of Badr “the Day of the Criterion” (Yawm al-Furqan).
Many pilgrims visit Badr after their Madinah Ziyarat taxi, so they have seen Quba, Qiblatain and Uhud first and can follow the story of the early battles in order.
