DIY Umrah Guide for Malaysian Pilgrims

Visa for Umrah DIY

Malaysians can apply for the Saudi tourist eVisa online, and it can be used for Umrah outside the Hajj season. You can also apply for an Umrah visa through the Nusuk platform. Either way, you need an Umrah permit in the Nusuk app before you perform Umrah, so check the latest rules for Umrah DIY 2026 before you book.

Flights from Kuala Lumpur

Malaysia Airlines, Saudia, AirAsia X and Batik Air fly non-stop from Kuala Lumpur to Jeddah, and Malaysia Airlines and Saudia also fly non-stop to Madinah. The flight takes about 9 to 10 hours. Saudi Arabia is 5 hours behind Malaysia, so many flights land late at night, Saudi time. Your driver waits for you whatever the hour.

Madinah First or Makkah First?

Many Malaysian DIY pilgrims land in Madinah first, stay a few days, then take our Madinah to Makkah taxi, which stops at the miqat at Bir Ali (Dhul Hulayfah) for 30–40 minutes so you can enter ihram. If you land in Jeddah, put on ihram before your flight crosses the miqat, as your ustaz advises, and our Jeddah Airport to Makkah taxi takes you straight to your hotel.

Language, Payment and Groups

Our team replies on WhatsApp in English and Arabic, and drivers speak Arabic and English. Pay cash in Saudi riyals or online, usually after the ride. For mosque and surau groups or big families, a Hiace (10–12 seats), Coaster (22) or bus (49) keeps everyone together; the bus from Jeddah Airport to Makkah costs 1,000 SAR, about 20 SAR per person when full.
