Guide for Residents of Saudi Arabia

Flying In from Riyadh or Dammam

Most residents fly to Jeddah or Madinah for a weekend Umrah. Send us your flight number and the driver will meet you at any Jeddah terminal or at Madinah Airport, then take you straight to your hotel. See the full route on our Jeddah Airport to Makkah taxi page.

Coming by Haramain Train

The Haramain train is quick, but the Makkah and Madinah stations are a few kilometres from the Haram and taxi queues there can be long, especially with bags and children. Your driver waits in the station parking area and takes you to the hotel entrance. The same applies on the way back, from your Makkah hotel to the train station.

Your Umrah Permit and the Busy Times

Book your Umrah permit in the Nusuk app before you travel; we arrange the transport. Thursday night, Friday and the last ten nights of Ramadan are the busiest times, so book your car early and leave extra time for traffic around the Haram.

Ihram and Miqat for Residents

If you fly from Riyadh or Dammam, you enter ihram on the plane before it passes the miqat. If you live in Jeddah, you are inside the miqat and enter ihram from home. If you go to Madinah first, you enter ihram at Abyar Ali (Dhul Hulayfah); on every Madinah to Makkah taxi the driver stops there for 30–40 minutes.
